Weekly Reflections

On the first week of January we were busy with our third semester exams. Last exam was on 20/1/2021, so there were no other work or programmes.  After the exams , we have classes in our College regarding the fourth semester work and online teaching practices. Last week of January we went to our concerned school for the permission of taking the online classes. We got MSM HSS school Kayamkulam for our online teaching practice. The management allotted us with topics and students from plus one Commerce. After that we made a personal online group separately and added the students which were allotted to us. After that we contacted the parents of each student to inform about the online classes. 

In teacher training programme (B.Ed) period of teaching practice is considered as very demanding, hectic and exhaustive. Yet the essence of teacher training lies in it.

But as the covid 19 situation are still doesn't come to an end, our second phase teaching practice was also done by online and reduced to 15 online teaching classes . For that we; the commerce students of JBMCTE selected the MSM Higher Secondary School for our online teaching. We are of 6 in numbers so this time also the management provided 17 students from plus one to each of us . Online teaching starts from 01/02/2021 and ends in 15 /02/2021. 

                 The school management gave the portion chapter 4:- Business Services from business studies.

   

# 1 st day

   On the first day ,01/02/2021 at 3 pm the classes were started. The class was on the Google meet platform . I got 17 students from the F1 batch . On the first day 10 students were entered and attended the class. First day topic was the services , nature and its types from the chapter Business Services. 

The first class itself was very good  for me. Slides were also presented for the better teaching and for interacting with students. After the class I conclude the overall topic by asking questions . All students were corporated  in answering .

# 2 nd day

The second day of online teaching 02/02/2021 ,at 3 pm the class was started on the Google meet platform. On the second day 0nly 7 students were entered and attended the class.  Second day topic was the banking and it's types. Slides were also presented for better understanding. 

# 3rd day

On the third day 03/02/2021 , at 3 pm itself the class was started on the Google meet platform.Third day topic was functions of commercial banks. Slides were also presented.

# 4 th day

On the fourth day 04/02/2021, the class was started at 3 pm on the Google meet platform. Fourth day topic was E- banking and it's benefits. Slides were also presented. Due to certain network issues, the number of students attended the class was only upto 5.

# 5 th day

On the fifth day 05/02/2021, the class was started as usual at 3 pm on the Google meet platform. Fifth day topic was Insurance, important terms in insurance and functions of insurance. As usual, slides were also presented along with the class.

#6th day

On  06/02/2021, the class was started at 3 pm on the Google meet platform. Sixth day topic was principles of insurance. Slides were also presented. Due to certain network issues, the number of students attended the class was only upto 5.

#7 th day

On 08/02/2021, the class was started as usual at 3 pm on the Google meet platform. Seventh day topic was life Insurance, important elements of life insurance and types of insurance policies. As usual, slides were also presented along with the class.

#8 th day

The eighth day of online teaching 09/02/2021 ,at 3 pm the class was started on the Google meet platform. On the eighth day 0nly 5 students were entered and attended the class. The topic was Fire insurance and it's elements. Slides were also presented for better understanding. 

#9th day

On the nineth day ,10/02/2021 at 3 pm the class was started. The class was on the Google meet platform .  Only 5 students were entered and attended the class. The topic was Marine insurance , types and elements of marine insurance. 

The class was very good  for me. Slides were also presented for the better teaching and for interacting with students. After the class I conclude the overall topic by asking questions . All students were corporated  in answering . After the class there was a diagnostic test for students inorder to identify their difficulties. 

# 10 th day 

The tenth day of online teaching 11/02/2021 ,at 3 pm the class was started on the Google meet platform. 0nly 5 students were entered and attended the class. The topic was other insurances. Slides were also presented for better understanding. 

# 11th day

On 12/02/2021 at 3 pm the classes were started. The class was on the Google meet platform. Only 6 students were entered and attended the class. The topic was Communication services and postal & telegram services. The class was very good. Slides were also presented for the better teaching and for interacting with students. After the class I conclude the overall topic by asking questions . All students were corporated  in answering .

# 12 th day

On 13/02/2021 ,at 3 pm the class was started on the Google meet platform. 0nly 5 students were entered and attended the class. The topic was transportation and it's benefits. Slides were also presented for better understanding. After the class I conclude the overall topic by asking questions . All students were corporated  in answering .

#13th  day

On 15/02/2021, the class was started as usual at 3 pm on the Google meet platform. The topic was warehousing, types and it's functions. As usual, slides were also presented along with the class.After the class I conclude the overall topic by asking questions . All students were corporated  in answering .

And thus we completed our second  phase teaching practice . That was an another experience for us .

On 17/2/2021 an achievement test was conducted. 15 Students attended the test.

After the 15 days of online teaching practice , we taken peer teaching classes from 17/2/2021 to 5/3/2021

For online peer tutoring the classes were started on the Google platform. All the peers were entered the class on right time. No network issues were occured . The classes were really good for me.

At 8.30 we all were presented in our College. After the assembly we started our peer tutoring class. Flashcards , models, chart , roleplay, powerpoint presentation etc were presented . First two classes I got so many suggestions regarding my teaching from teacher and peers. By taking the suggestions in the right way , I tried to improve the last class of my peer tutoring. I was able to achieve my objectives when i got the positive responses from my peers.

From 8/3/2021, we were busy at completing our commission work. We practices several times for our commission class in front of our juniors and teacher. So many suggestions were provided by them. That was really helpful for me .
